The Ventura County Genealogical Society, Inc. (VCGS) will be holding its regular monthly meeting Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Ventura LDS Family History Center, 3501 Loma Vista Rd. (at Mills Rd.) Ventura, CA. Before the meeting begins and during the breaks, genealogy books and supplies are available for purchase. Guests are always welcome to attend our free meeting. Connie Moretti is a retired educator and is currently active as a historian, lecturer and writer. She is co-author of Stepping Stones to Genealogy and On the Road (a guide to Southern Los Angeles County genealogy libraries). Connie will talk to us about both online and print resources for building a profile of our Civil War ancestors.
